Board of Directors
Coach Tami is in her fifth year as Club Director for OPVBC and a returning head coach. Coach Tami had coached with Kitsap Juniors for 3 years as the head coach for the U13, U14 and U16 Impact team while also serving as the Assistant Director. Tami comes with a long history of playing volleyball including a 3 year Varsity starter for 4A Eisenhower HS in Yakima, WA and was on the number one ranked team in the state her senior year as an outside hitter. She played club volleyball for 6 years with Team Yakima and attended the Junior Olympics 3 years in a row, the Volleyball Festival, and participated on a select team in the Canadian-American games. Tami is USAV IMPACT and CAP I certified, Gold Medal Squared Trained, First Aid/CPR qualified and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Coach Tami is happily married to husband Jason and they have 4 daughters ranging in age from 5 to 20 years old.
Coach Peden has been coaching at the high school level for over 16 years, and is the current head coach at Olympic HS. 4 of his last 5 teams have reached the state tournament. His teams have captured 4 league titles, 3 of them being undefeated league titles, and one district championship. Coach Peden is the 2006 Olympic League Co-Coach of the year and recently passed the 200 win mark. He has coached and/or administrated camps and clinics at all levels including elementary, junior high, high school, and college. College camps include Western Washington University, San Diego State University, and Guy Enrique camps. Coach Peden has obtained Preferred coaching status at the high school level. He is USAV IMPACT Certified and Gold Medal Squared trained. Coach Peden also has the playing perspective to strengthen his coaching skills as he has played on the US Navy National Team as a setter and various other teams to the present. Coach Peden is happily married to his wife Susan.
Coach Glenn returns for his fifth season with OPVBC. He had coached 4 years with Kitsap Juniors Volleyball Club, including Assistant Coach of a U-14 team, and Head Coach of U-15, and U-16 teams. In addition to coaching volleyball, Coach Glenn is also a fifth year certified WIAA Volleyball Referee. He officiates at the high school and junior high school level volleyball matches. Coach Glenn is USAV IMPACT certified and USAV CAP I, Gold Medal Squared trained, and First Aid/CPR qualified. Glenn has long been a student of the game and loves playing and teaching volleyball. Coach Glenn is happily married with one daughter that is a sophomore at Gonzaga this year.
Coach D returns for her third season with OPVBC. Coach D grew up in Northwestern Indiana and was the first and only student athlete to letter 12 times at John Glenn High School in volleyball, basketball, and track. She played club basketball for Indiana's Finest and club volleyball for Dunes Volleyball Club. Coach D went on to play college volleyball for Division II Northern Michigan University under current Univ. of Oregon Ducks' coach Jim Moore. They finished with an Elite 8 appearance her senior season and just shy of playing for a national championship title. Coach D still plays today on a local women's USAV team and in any recreational tournaments she can. While getting her teaching degree and her master's in exercise science, Coach D was the head volleyball coach for Gwinn High School for 5 years. After graduation she continued on to Rapid City and coached for 3 seasons at South Dakota School of Mines (2 years as head, 1 year as the assistant.) Her first season at the helm boasted a 23-6 finish with 3 all-conference players and the conference libero of the year. She is also involved in coaching camps in the summer at the University of Oregon and has run satellite camps for high schools in states as far as Mississippi. Coach D was named Coach of the Year by her peers while coaching at Bremerton HS last year and is excited to be the head coach at Olympic College for the 2010 season. She is USAV IMPACT certified, Gold Medal Squared trained and First Aid/CPR qualified. Coach D is married to Jake Donnelly and settling into their new home in Port Orchard.
Coaches
Coach K returns to our coaching staff at OPVBC for his fourth season. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest 5 years ago, Dragan has been coaching with NWJRS. Prior to coming to this area, he coached in the Great Lakes Region, and was extremely active in the junior volleyball community. Dragan ran his own club for 12 years in the west suburbs of Chicago and was also a college coach for 6 years and a high school coach for 14 years. In addition to his coaching experience, he served as the Great Lakes Region Girls Junior Coordinator, the High Performance Director, an IMPACT Clinician as well as a member of the Great Lakes Region Executive Board. Along with his coaching and administrative functions, Dragan has been an active high school, collegiate and club official.
Coach K is currently coaching Varsity at Klahowya SS and is also the Puget Sound Region’s High Performance Program Director, an IMPACT Clinician, the Region’s Tournament Coordinator as well as the current Power League Director. At the national level, Dragan serves on the USA Volleyball Junior Girls Competition Commission and is a member of the USAV National Seeding Committee. He is USAV IMPACT Certified, ASEP, CAP I Certified, Gold Medal Squared trained, First Aid/CPR qualified and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Coach Crystal is returning to us this season as an assistant coach. She is currently playing for Olympic College on a scholarship and has been a starter every game. She has played many years of volleyball in her high school and club volleyball for Idaho Juniors. She is very passionate and competitive and can’t wait to share her love of volleyball.
We welcome Ed to our club this season. Ed was an active high school coach for five years in Pensacola Florida and six years while stationed in Rota, Spain. During that time he took over a one win high school team and in the first year reached the playoffs. Ed coached with Pensacola International Juniors Volleyball Club for five years, coaching elite level teams in the U-15, 16, 17 and 18 age categories. Ed also has worked with youth as the lead camp counselor for the Drug Education for Youth (DEFY) program for at risk youth ages 8-13 for six years. Ed played indoor and beach volleyball player from age 18 to 35 playing in USAV club and tournament play, military and recreational leagues, often playing on multiple teams each season. Once a volleyball gym rat, Ed is looking forward to sharing his skills and experience with OPVBC and getting back into the volleyball scene.
We welcome Coach Kailey to our club this season. She comes to us as a former player for Kitsap Juniors and OPVBC, as well as North Kitsap HS and Christ the King Academy. She has lots of experience working with youth and kids and can’t wait to get back on the court to begin sharing and teaching her passion for the game.
Coach Taryn joins OPVBC this season with a long history of playing and coaching. She played for CKHS and Kitsap Juniors and then went on to play two years for Green River CC, one year as a redshirt for Tennessee State University, and then finished her last two years at Concordia University in Portland. Coach Taryn has coached for Saturday’s Warriors VBC and SEI Academy in Portland, OR. She is currently working at the Haselwood Family YMCA and is excited to start coaching with OPVBC.
Coach Liz joins OPVBC this season having moved into our area as the athletic trainer for Olympic College and MVP Physical Therapy. She has played high school and club volleyball in Northern California and most recently for the Linfield Wildcats. She has coached at various high school summer camps as well as
camps conducted by her college team.
We welcome Coach Lilly to our coaching staff for her third season. She has 20+ years playing experience, having grown up in the Kitsap area she has played for CKJH, CKHS and Olympic College. She then began playing on many USAV competitive teams as well as any city or rec leagues she can find. While attending OC she was awarded the OC Top Passer both years she played for the Rangers. Coach Lilly has also coached in our area as a Middle School, JV and Varsity coach at Klahowya HS and also with Peninsula HS. She is USAV IMPACT certified and Gold Medal Squared trained. She has played both basketball and softball but is very passionate about volleyball and is excited to bring that to the kids.

A big welcome to Coach KC,as she returns to our area as a former player for both Kitsap JRs and North Kitsap HS where she was awarded MVP and 2nd team all-Narrows League two years in a row for volleyball and went to state twice in track. She just recently graduated from Northern Arizona University where she played on their club volleyball team for three years and helped them place 2nd last year at the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation national tournament. She was recognized on the all–tournament team for two years during her collegiate club years. She has been working with youth all her life as camp counselors and mentoring coaching younger players and most recently helped coach her college club team. She is excited to begin her coaching with us this season.
This is Coach Heather’s third season with OPVBC. Coach Meryhew is currently the head coach at Peace Lutheran School, coaching both volleyball and basketball and also the Assistant Athletic Director. She was previously the Ridgetop JH varsity volleyball coach from 2001-2007. She has a strong playing background having played both volleyball and basketball at Olympic College and playing on the All Navy Volleyball team for two years. She has attended the Pempco Clinic, the WIAA Rules clinic, is USAV IMPACT certified, Gold Medal Squared trained and also CPR/First Aid qualified. Coach Meryhew’s passion is teaching students their strengths and to build a desire for life long learning. She is happily married with one son who is 5 years old.
Coach Treanna joins us for her fourth season with OPVBC. Coach Treanna played volleyball for a 5A high school in Colorado as well as 3 years of club volleyball for Northern Colorado Volleyball Club. She has a BS in Chemistry Education from Colorado State University and prior to recently moving into the Kitsap area, she taught 7th grade science in South Carolina. Coach Treanna was the JV coach at Klahowya SS last year. She is USAV IMPACT certified, Gold Medal Squared trained and First Aid/CPR qualified. Coach Treanna is married and settling into her new home in Silverdale.
Coach Michelle returns to OPVBC coaching our newly formed Bainbridge Island Team. She has many years experience coaching for various clubs and teams in high school and club. She graduated from the University of New Mexico where she attended on a full scholarship in volleyball until one too many knee injuries prevented her from playing. She graduated from Bainbridge HS where she was a 4 year starter and earned many awards. Coach Michelle is USAV IMPACT certified and Gold Medal Squared trained. She loves kids and volleyball and is always excited to be on the court with the kids.
We are pleased to welcome Coach Peter to our staff for his second season. He is the current JV volleyball coach for Klahowya SS and has been running various youth developmental volleyball programs for Poulsbo Parks and Rec as well as the Zone Sports Complex and the Haselwood YMCA. He also ran the Poulsbo Summer Camp this past summer and he has helped many kids get introduced to volleyball. He has played for the Marine Volleyball team as well as playing in various leagues at Long Beach State. Coach Peter has a passion for volleyball and youth that he loves to share and is always looking for ways to get volleyball out to more kids.
